About Char
Upon retirement from successful careers in the private and non-profit sectors, Char began exploring ways to express her life’s journey through her art.
In 2016 Charlene formed Amagical Art to showcase her art and offer new inspirations for purchase. As a new artist in the community, her work has gained popularity throughout the Reno/Sparks area and nationwide. Her art represents her deep feelings about her life’s journey; it is both a challenge and an outlet, a discipline and a passion. Char’s preferred medium is “mixed” using acrylic paint, adding discarded jewelry and broken glass, then finished with resin. She uses many different styles and techniques in her art that creates unique, one-of-a-kind abstract pieces. She is constantly creating and selling her art.
When Char isn’t painting, she travels around the globe collecting unique “things” to use as embellishments in her art. While at home, she volunteers with art organizations using her professional skills to promote and market the organization’s exhibits on their website and social media. She also teaches her craft at Truckee Meadows Community College, inspiring others to explore their inner artist.
If you would like a custom and unique one-of-a-kind art piece, contact Char.
